This almost 400 ha West Coast property is situated in the Berg River area of the Sandveld region. Aurora (North), Piketberg (East), Hopefield (South), and Velddrif (West) are about the same distance from this property. The main income of this going concern comes from Adventure (4x4 trails), Accommodation (44 guests), and the facilities for the entertainment of the clients. The agricultural side of the property is rented out to a neighbour.
Improvements consist of a 3-bedroom main house, 5-bedroom guest house, 3-bedroom guest house, 2-bedroom cottage, 1 bedroom flatlet, an equipment and storage shed, an entertainment hall with bar area, a separate ablution block and a large lapa- style outdoor entertainment area. Water supply is provided by a 60 000 l/h borehole, more than sufficient for the various needs, with more other boreholes if needed. Three phase electricity is supplied by ESKOM. Access is easy from all directions, mostly Piketberg or Hopefield.
From an agricultural point of view, about 170 ha of this property is suitable for the production of winter grain and legumes like oats and lupins, usually used in a livestock-based farming enterprise. At least 50 ha is suitable for the production of Rooibos, with another 120 ha of natural veld and Rooikrans (Acacia cyclops). Rooikrans can be harvested and sold as a very popular fire wood for barbecue purposes. The 4x4 and motorcycle tracks cover about 50 ha of the property, which form the basis of the main economic activity on the farm. The accommodation and entertainment facilities provide secondary income as a result.
